Wayside Landscape Services Wins State and National Awards
Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. won a Merit Award for its White Residence Project in the 2008 Excellence in the Landscape Awards Program sponsored by the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association (NCNLA). The project was designed by Andy White.
Wayside won this prestigious award in the very competitive Residential Design/Build category. The awards are given annually to companies exhibiting the highest degree of quality and professionalism in the state. The White Project, located in Black Mountain along the municipal golf course, involved enlargement of the existing house by building a unique sun / family room addition, accomplishing this with minimal disturbance to the established site; extensive renovation and upgrades to the entire house, inside and out; creation of multiple outdoor living areas with surrounding gardens and outdoor lighting to take advantage of the site both during the day and the night; construction of more sheltered and unsheltered vehicular parking; additions and improvements to pedestrian walkways; construction of a vehicular turnaround to eliminate the need to back into a steep street; and lush garden plantings in a dry-shade environment that provide year-round appeal and privacy. The project was selected on the basis of design excellence and on the quality of work performed, including coordination of work, quality of materials, and overall appearance. Wayside Landscape Services served as both the Licensed General Contractor and Registered Landscape Contractor for the project.
