What is the difference between a practicing arborist and a consulting arborist?

A practicing arborist (arborist, arborist practitioner)  is directly involved in the care and treatment of trees in the landscape; implements the recommendations of a consulting arborist; does the actual tree work.  Click here for help in finding an ISA Certified Arborist in your local.

A consulting arborist is involved in the independent and objective application of technical knowledge, analytical skills and professional judgment to tree-related issues in order to provide observations, conclusions and appropriate recommendations.

LandArbor Consulting provides arboricultural consulting – we are not practicing arborists.
